Food blogger Elisa of Happyskinkitchen talks to Apibal about her skin struggles and love of bee pollen!

– How important are natural food supplements to you?
Natural food supplements have played a huge role in helping to clear my skin. Some of my favourites are bee pollen, probiotics and zinc.
– Being a food blogger do you have a guilty pleasure?
I can never say no to chocolate! Although now I stick with dark chocolate smothered in almond butter.
– Do you have any advice for people trying to eat healthier?
My first advice would be to start with one step at a time. For example start by always making yourself a homemade, nutritious breakfast like overnight oats or a smoothie. It could be overwhelming changing your lifestyle completely when it can be easier and more achievable by committing to one small change at the time.
Elisa’s Bee Pollen Golden Smoothie
1 frozen banana
1 cup of frozen mango chunks
A handful of raw cashews ( optional but makes the smoothie creamier and thicker)
1 teaspoon of freshly grated turmeric
1 Apibal bee pollen capsule
3/4 cup of coconut milk to blend
Simply place all the ingredients into a blender apart from the coconut milk. Add gradually the coconut milk until you reach the desired consistency. You might not need to use it all.
Pour the smoothie into a bowl and top with the topping of your choice. I have used coconut yogurt, fresh blueberries and passion fruit.
